Tuition
Kumon is a long term study learning program with a minimum commitment of one year per subject. After the initial year, students continue in the program on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis based on their individual learning styles and abilities until program completion.
To accommodate the specific needs of our families, each student's tuition can be paid through several different options listed below. Once a student enrolls in Kumon, they continue at the same tuition rate for the duration of the student's enrollment unless the student takes a break for 1 month or more.
Each student's monthly tuition is due in advance. For example, December's monthly tuition is due before the end of November. We offer AMEX, Discover,VISA and MasterCard, and several other payment options, including an automatic credit card charge.
Our KUMON families have generally been great about submitting tuition payments in on time, and so we don't often have to talk about the late payment policy. The late tuition policy is:
Tuition is due on or before the first of the month
A $10 late fee will apply if tuition is not received before or on the first day of the month that payment is due (tuition postmarked on or before the 1st is not late).
A student may be absent without being discontinued as long as the student is not absent for more than one month during a 12 month period of time per enrolled subject. A credit for the month absent in one subject will be applied to that subject only after the student's first year tuition in that subject is paid.
Paid tuition is non-refundable and is forfeited should a student discontinue enrollment or if work is taken at any time during the month.
A 30-day written notice is required before leaving the program prior to the minimum 12 month commitment. Any student who terminates their enrollment prior to the minimum year commitment is responsible for the remaining yearly tuition. Your account will be closed 30 days after we receive your written notice to terminate and the remaining tuition has been paid. Your account will remain open and active until written notice is received and the minimum yearly tuition balance is paid.
In cases of medical or other emergencies where a 30 day notice is impossible to give, please call us and we will do what we can to accommodate your situation. Any student who needs to terminate their enrollment before the minimum year commitment is excused without paying the remaining tuition balance with a written note from a physician.
